Yousey & Zimmerman Named CHS Athletes of the Week

Jacoby Yousey (Jr.) – Baseball

Junior standout Jacoby Yousey played a pivotal role in leading the Cashmere Bulldogs baseball team to a perfect 4-0 week, continuing their dominant season at 20-1. Batting in the heart of the lineup, Yousey delivered an exceptional offensive performance, going 8-for-12 with three triples, two doubles, and nine RBIs.

Yousey has been a consistent force for the Bulldogs all season, splitting time between first base and designated hitter. He currently holds an impressive .420 batting average, along with 10 extra-base hits and 21 RBIs.

Head coach Colton Loomis praised Yousey’s approach and work ethic:
“Jacoby had a great week at the plate. He stayed consistent and relaxed and made the most of his at-bats. He makes the most of his reps during and outside of practice and continues to trust his approach every time he steps in the box. His effort, his positive attitude, and commitment to the team are showing up in a big way right now.”

Macie Zimmerman (Sr.) – Softball

Senior leader Macie Zimmerman turned in an outstanding all-around performance for the Cashmere Bulldogs softball team this past week, making a major impact both at the plate and in the circle.

Zimmerman posted a .461 batting average across four games, collecting six hits—four of which went for extra bases—while scoring 10 runs. In the circle, she was equally dominant, striking out 15 batters over 12 innings of work.

Her efforts helped lead the Bulldogs to a 10-6 finish in SCAC play, securing a third-place league standing. With postseason aspirations in sight, Zimmerman will be a key figure as the team looks to return to the state tournament for the fifth consecutive year.

Head coach Steve Mongeon highlighted her impact:
“Macie stepped up at the plate against a tough Ki-Be team on Thursday. At the same time, she shut down their offense in a much-needed game two win. Macie has been hitting the ball hard of late and giving us a chance to win in the circle every game she pitches.”
