The 2026 season came to an end Saturday afternoon for the Cashmere Bulldogs boys soccer team in the 1A State Quarterfinals at the Apple Bowl in Wenatchee, as the Bulldogs fell to the Meridian Trojans 4-0.

Cashmere entered Saturday’s matchup coming off an emotional state tournament victory over Wapato on Friday afternoon, a win that punched their ticket to the quarterfinal round less than 24 hours earlier. Despite the quick turnaround, the Bulldogs battled throughout the contest against a strong Meridian squad.

The Trojans got off to a fast start, scoring two early first-half goals to seize momentum. Cashmere generated several offensive opportunities during the opening half but was unable to capitalize, trailing 2-0 at halftime.

Meridian continued to apply pressure after intermission, adding two more goals in the second half to secure the victory and advance to the state semifinals.

While the season ended one step short of the final four, the Bulldogs completed an outstanding 2026 campaign. Cashmere captured the 2026 SCAC regular season championship and qualified for the state tournament for the third consecutive season. The Bulldogs finished the year with an impressive 17-4-1 overall record and cemented themselves as one of the most successful teams in program history.

The Bulldogs showed tremendous fight, determination, and resilience throughout the season while representing the Cashmere community with class and pride every step of the way.

Saturday’s match also marked the final game for an outstanding senior class that helped elevate the program to new heights. Cashmere says farewell to eight seniors: Ethan Theiss, Ivan Gonzalez-Hurtado, Alejandro Serna Rojas, Ranique Allen, JJ Herrera, Gio Acevedo-Mata, Claudio Parra, and Kevin Sanchez.

Though the season has come to a close, the accomplishments of the 2026 Bulldogs will long be remembered in Cashmere boys soccer history.
