Softball: Bulldogs Cruise Past Mount Baker, 14-1 in Five Innings

The Cashmere Bulldogs fastpitch softball team put together a dominant performance on Thursday afternoon, rolling past the Mount Baker Mountaineers 14-1 in five innings at Cashmere Softball Field. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 4-5 on the season.

Cashmere’s offense was explosive from the start, piling up runs and applying pressure on the bases all game long.

Gwen Ledesma led the charge at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run scored. Reylin Boyd filled up the stat sheet with a triple, three RBI, two runs scored, and three stolen bases in a 1-for-3 performance. Juliana Boyd added a hit and a stolen base, while Logan Hatmaker contributed with a hit, scored two runs, and wreaked havoc on the basepaths with four stolen bases.

In the circle, Macie Zimmerman earned the win with a strong outing, tossing three shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out four. Juliana Boyd closed out the game, pitching two innings and giving up one run on one hit while striking out one.

The Bulldogs’ combination of timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and solid pitching proved too much for Mount Baker in the run-rule shortened contest.

Next Up: Cashmere returns to action on Friday, hosting Kittitas in another non-league matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Kittitas enters the game with a 6-4 record.
