Patrick & Bessonette Named CHS Athletes of the Week

Brynne Patrick (Sr.) — Girls Soccer

Senior forward and team captain Brynne Patrick helped lead the Cashmere Bulldogs to a perfect 2-0 start to the 2026 season, scoring six goals and adding an assist in a pair of shutout victories over Wapato and Zillah.

Patrick opened the season in impressive fashion Thursday against Wapato, recording a hat trick and adding an assist as the Bulldogs earned a shutout victory. She followed that performance with another hat trick on Saturday, scoring all three goals in Cashmere’s 3-0 road victory over Zillah.

Through the Bulldogs’ first two matches, Patrick has already established herself as one of the team’s offensive leaders while providing valuable leadership as a senior captain.

“Brynne Patrick came into her senior year with high expectations, and she has delivered,” said Cashmere head coach Anya Belcher. “Six goals and an assist through our first two matches is an incredible start. But Brynne brings more than goals—she sets the tone for us as a senior captain with her work rate, competitiveness, and leadership. When we need someone to make something happen, she has shown she can be that player.”

Ethan Bessonette (Jr.) — Football

Junior defensive back Ethan Bessonette made an impact all over the field Friday night, helping the Cashmere Bulldogs open the 2026 football season with a dominant 64-6 victory over College Place.

As a starting defensive back, Bessonette recorded four tackles, one forced fumble, one interception, and a crucial pass breakup on a fake punt. His all-around performance helped anchor a Bulldog defense that held College Place to just six points.

While his statistics stood out on opening night, head coach Bryan Bremer said Bessonette’s greatest contributions come from the way he approaches the game and leads his teammates.

“Ethan embodies everything we want our program to stand for,” said Bremer. “He’s humble, selfless, and shows up every single day with a willingness to learn and improve. He doesn’t seek attention or recognition; instead, he leads through his actions, his consistency, and the standard he sets with his daily habits.”

Bremer also praised Bessonette for his perseverance after suffering an injury at team camp during the summer.

“After battling back from an injury he suffered at team camp this summer, he returned stronger than ever through his commitment and perseverance,” Bremer said. “Ethan has earned the respect of his teammates and coaches by proving that leadership isn’t always about what you say… it’s about what you do every day.”
