David Odenrider (Jr.) – Boys Golf

Junior David Odenrider earned a trip to the state tournament with a clutch performance at last week’s District Tournament in Othello. Odenrider shot an 87 to tie for seventh overall, overcoming a difficult start with an impressive finish. He carded a 40 on the back nine and made par on four of his final five holes to secure his state berth.

Head Coach Tyler Theiss praised Odenrider’s composure and perseverance throughout the round.

“David has been one of the most consistent golfers on our team all season,” Theiss said. “After a tough start at the district tournament, he showed tremendous resilience and mental toughness to regroup and earn his spot at the state tournament. His ability to stay composed, trust his game, and battle back says a lot about the growth he’s made this year. We’re proud of the leadership and determination he’s brought to our program.”

Carly Boyd (Fr.) – Girls Golf

Freshman Carly Boyd punched her ticket to the state tournament with a determined performance at the District Tournament, shooting a 108 to finish tied for 10th overall. Boyd also impressed during postseason play the week prior, firing a 98 at the SCAC postseason qualifying event to place second overall.

Despite challenging conditions at districts, Boyd showed poise beyond her years to earn a state berth in her first varsity postseason appearance.

“Carly showed incredible composure and determination at the district tournament, especially for a freshman competing in that environment,” Head Coach Tyler Theiss said. “She battled through difficult weather conditions and overcame a couple of tough holes to earn her place at the state tournament. Her resilience and competitive mindset stood out all day, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for her in our program.”
