Taylor Kunz (Jr., Girls Track & Field) turned in a dominant all-around performance, capturing first place in three individual events while also anchoring the Bulldogs’ winning 4×100-meter relay team. Kunz claimed victories in the long jump, 100-meter hurdles, and shot put, showcasing her versatility across multiple disciplines.
Her performance played a key role in leading the Cashmere girls to a commanding team victory, scoring 166 points to defeat Chelan, Omak, Cascade, and Wahluke.
Kunz, who placed third at the state meet last season in both the 100-meter hurdles and long jump, is already showing signs of surpassing those marks this spring. Notably, her long jump of 17 feet, 4.5 inches exceeded the distance that earned her a state medal a year ago.
Head Coach Jeff Kenoyer praised her strong start:
“Taylor Kunz is off to a good start this track season! At our recent home track meet on 3/31, Taylor won three individual events and anchored a winning 4×100 relay team. Taylor long jumped farther than she did in earning third place at state last season. She is motivated and has been working hard this season!”
Rylan Reiber (Jr., Boys Track & Field) delivered an equally impressive showing on the track, sweeping all three distance events—the 800-meter, 1,600-meter, and 3,200-meter races—to lead the Bulldogs boys to a dominant team performance.
Reiber recorded a personal best time of 2:11.98 in the 800 meters and added a season-best 11:11.92 in the 3,200 meters, highlighting his continued growth and endurance.
Head Coach Jeff Kenoyer commended Reiber’s effort and consistency:
“Rylan Reiber placed first in three individual distance events at our recent home track meet on 3/31. He was just one lap away from running the maximum distance possible in a track meet! Rylan is near the top of the league standings in the SCAC in the 800, 1600, and 3200 runs. He is a state track and cross country veteran that truly loves his sport.”
