On December 19th, an era officially came to a close at Cashmere High School. After 29 seasons leading the Bulldogs girls soccer program, Coach Dennis Tronson submitted his letter of retirement to the Cashmere School District. From 1997 to 2025, Coach Tronson built not only a powerhouse program, but a legacy that will stand as one of the finest in Washington State history.
Over nearly three decades at the helm, Tronson’s accomplishments speak volumes. He retires with an extraordinary overall record of 419-108-8, a testament to sustained excellence, consistency, and a standard of performance that few programs ever reach. Under his leadership, the Bulldogs captured:
- 14 Undefeated Regular Seasons
- 22 League Titles
- 15 District Titles
- 20 State Tournament Appearances
- 6 Final Four Appearances
His impact reached far beyond wins and trophies. In 2018, Tronson was rightfully inducted into the Washington State Coaches Association Hall of Fame for Girls Soccer — an honor reserved for those who have made a profound and lasting contribution to the sport. He was also named Conference Coach of the Year an impressive 10 times, a reflection of the respect he earned from his peers across the state.
But Coach Tronson’s legacy is not defined solely by championships. His commitment to soccer in Cashmere extended well beyond the high school field. From 1990 to 2003, he served as President of Cashmere Youth Soccer, helping build the foundation that would support generations of young athletes. His leadership helped create a seamless pipeline from youth development to high school success — a model program that many communities aspire to replicate.
At the state level, Tronson dedicated his time and expertise to shaping the game itself. He served on the Washington State Soccer Advisory Board, contributed to Washington State Rules Committees, and played a role on the WIAA Seeding Committee, helping guide and strengthen high school soccer across Washington.
For nearly 30 years, “Bulldog Soccer” became synonymous with excellence. Young athletes grew up dreaming of wearing the jersey, knowing they were stepping into a tradition of hard work and high standards. Opponents respected the program. The community rallied behind it. And year after year, the results followed.
While Coach Tronson’s time leading the Bulldogs girls soccer program has come to an end, his passion for developing young players remains. This spring, he will continue coaching boys soccer at Cashmere Middle School, staying connected to the game and mentoring the next generation of athletes.
As Coach Tronson steps away from the sideline in the fall, he leaves behind one of the premier girls soccer programs in Washington State — and a legacy that will continue to influence players, coaches, and the Cashmere community for years to come.
Congratulations to Coach Dennis Tronson on an exceptional career. Thank you for the championships, the leadership, the countless hours invested in young athletes, and for shaping the Cashmere girls soccer program into something truly special.
