The Cashmere Bulldogs track and field teams delivered a dominant performance on Saturday at the 2026 SCAC Championship Meet at College Place High School, as both the Cashmere boys and girls captured league championships against all nine SCAC schools.
The Cashmere boys overwhelmed the competition, piling up 184 team points to easily outdistance second-place College Place, which finished with 96 points. The Bulldog girls were equally impressive, scoring 184.5 points to finish ahead of second-place Naches Valley, which totaled 141.5 points.
The top three finishers in each event earned All-SCAC honors, and the Bulldogs had athletes collecting all-league performances throughout the day.
Leading the way for the Cashmere boys were five individual and relay champions. Isaac Zavala sprinted to victory in the 200 meters with a season-best time of 22.90. Rylan Reiber claimed the 1600 meters in a personal-record time of 4:39.93, while the 4×400 relay team of Cockrum, Dillin, Binger, and Zavala raced to a first-place finish in 3:32.17. In the field events, Carson Potter won the discus with a personal-record throw of 152-7, and Zane Pace captured the pole vault title by clearing 13-6.
Cashmere also turned in several runner-up performances on the boys side. Zavala added a second-place finish in the 100 meters with a season-best time of 11.19, while Caleb Dillin placed second in the 200 meters in 23.44. The Bulldogs’ 4×100 relay team of Cockrum, Black, Dillin, and Zavala also finished second. Thomas Schuringa earned runner-up honors in the pole vault with a personal-record clearance of 11-6.
Third-place finishers for the Cashmere boys included Jackson Binger in the 400 meters with a personal-record time of 52.08, Connor Diaz in the 110-meter hurdles at 17.11, and Luke Siderius in the pole vault with a personal-record mark of 10-0.
The Cashmere girls also produced several championship performances. Mackenzie Van Bogart was a double-event winner, taking first in the 800 meters in 2:19.73 and winning the 1600 meters in a personal-record time of 5:12.83. Taylor Kunz won the 100-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 15.86, while the 4×200 relay team of Bray, Guerrero, Baty, and Patrick earned a league title in 1:48.65. Quinn Pace added another championship in the pole vault with a season-best clearance of 8-0.
The Bulldogs added a long list of second-place finishes on the girls side. Brynne Patrick placed second in both the 100 meters with a personal-record time of 12.53 and the 200 meters in a personal-record 26.38. Kiana Baty finished second in the 300-meter hurdles in 48.17. Cashmere’s 4×100 relay team of West, Guerrero, Patrick, and Kunz took second in 50.46, while the 4×400 relay team of Infante, Diaz, Guerrero, and Van Bogart finished second in 4:18.70.
Additional runner-up finishes came from Makelah Gatens in the pole vault at 7-6, Kunz in the shot put with a throw of 32-6 and the long jump at 17-1.5, and Kaili Landes in the high jump with a personal-record mark of 4-8.
Third-place finishes for the Cashmere girls included Calene Bray in the high jump at 4-6 and Avril Guerrero in the pole vault at 7-6.
Next up, the Bulldogs will travel to Wapato High School next Saturday, May 16, for the postseason qualifying meet. All nine SCAC schools will compete, with athletes battling for district tournament berths. The top six finishers in sprints, hurdles, and relays will advance to districts, along with the top 12 finishers in the 1600 and 3200 meter races and all field events.
