Cashmere High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Annie Yousey as the new head cross-country coach, pending approval by the Cashmere School Board. Yousey will replace longtime head coach Jeff Kenoyer, who resigned from the position last month.
Yousey, who currently serves as a Spanish teacher at Cashmere High School, brings an impressive background of coaching experience and competitive success to the Bulldogs’ cross-country program.
Most recently, Yousey served as an assistant cross-country coach at the American School in London from 2018-2025. Prior to her time in London, she spent six years at Korea International School (2013-2018), where she served in both head coaching and assistant coaching roles. Earlier in her coaching career, Yousey spent four years at Life Christian Academy in Tacoma (2003-2006), serving as both an assistant and head cross-country coach.
In addition to her extensive coaching experience, Yousey enjoyed an outstanding collegiate running career at Whitworth University, competing in both cross-country and track and field. Her accomplishments include earning Whitworth Female Athlete of the Year honors in 2001, and setting the Whitworth University women’s 10K school record with a time of 36:34, breaking a record that had stood since 1988. She was also a Northwest Conference champion in both the 5K and 10K in 2001, and qualified for NCAA Division III Nationals in the 10,000m the same year.
Following her collegiate career, Yousey remained at Whitworth and spent one year (2001-2002) serving as an assistant coach for both the cross-country and track and field programs.
“I’m super excited and grateful for this opportunity,” said Yousey. “Cashmere is full of great athletes and high expectations. I’m looking forward to building on the successful program that Jeff Kenoyer has established and to working with our coaches and runners to contribute to further success. My vision is to help every runner belong, achieve their goals, grow as athletes and people, and contribute to the shared success and joy of our team. I can’t wait to get started! Go Bulldogs!”
Cashmere Athletic Director Jeff Carlson expressed his enthusiasm for the hiring.
“We are thrilled to welcome Annie as the next leader of our cross-country program,” said Carlson. “Annie brings a wealth of coaching experience, along with an exceptional background as both an athlete and educator. Her passion for developing student-athletes and creating a positive team culture made her an outstanding choice for this position. We are excited for the future of Cashmere cross country under her leadership and look forward to seeing her build upon the strong foundation that Coach Kenoyer established.”
Pending school board approval, Yousey will begin her duties immediately in preparation for the upcoming 2026 cross-country season.
