The Mat Classic XXXVII returns to the Tacoma Dome this Friday and Saturday, and the Cashmere Bulldogs will arrive with high expectations on both the boys and girls sides.
Boys Eye Top Finish
Cashmere’s boys squad will send 13 wrestlers to the mat beginning Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 3 in the state by Washington Wrestling Report and are looking to improve on last season’s fifth-place finish at the state tournament.
Leading the charge is junior Jance Novak, who will attempt to capture his second consecutive state title at 165 pounds. Novak enters the tournament as the top-ranked wrestler in his weight class and one of the Bulldogs’ strongest title contenders.
