The Cashmere Bulldogs track and field team put together a strong all-around performance on Saturday, hosting the annual Cashmere Invitational with 16 schools in attendance. Each team was limited to just two entries per event, making every finish even more valuable in the team standings.
Schools competing included Cascade (Leavenworth), Cascade Christian (Puyallup), Cle Elum-Roslyn, Granite Falls, King’s, La Conner, Meridian, Mount Baker, Naches Valley, Okanogan, Omak, Royal, Sultan, Toppenish, and Zillah.
When the dust settled, Cashmere earned second place overall in both the boys and girls team standings, with King’s taking the boys team title and Meridian claiming the girls championship.
Boys Highlights
The Cashmere boys delivered several standout performances and personal records throughout the day:
- Zane Pace captured 1st in the pole vault (13-03) *PR
- Jack Binger placed 2nd in the 400M (52.61) *PR
- Rylan Reiber took 3rd in the 1500M (4:26.89) *PR
- Connor Diaz finished 3rd in the 110M hurdles (16.90) *PR
- Isaac Zavala placed 4th in the 100M (11.43)
- 4×100 Relay (Cockrum, Shabazz-Pheasant, Black, Zavala) – 3rd (44.74)
- Carson Potter earned 2nd in discus (150-06) *PR
- Joseph Acton placed 3rd in discus (145-11)
- Kaleb Thayer finished 4th in javelin (149-06)
Girls Highlights
The Cashmere girls were equally impressive, highlighted by multiple event wins and relay success:
- Brynne Patrick won the 200M (27.31) *PR
- Mackenzie Van Bogart won the 800M (2:19.52) *PR
- Taylor Kunz won the 100M hurdles (15.87)
- 4×100 Relay (Guerrero, West, Patrick, Kunz) – 1st (51.65)
- 4×200 Relay (Bray, Guerrero, Baty, Patrick) – 2nd (1:49.38)
