Cashmere Tennis Sweeps College Place, Continues Dominant Season

The Cashmere Bulldogs tennis teams turned in a dominant performance on Saturday, making the long trip to College Place and sweeping the Hawks in SCAC action. Both the boys and girls squads earned convincing 5-0 victories, continuing an impressive stretch of play for the program.

The Cashmere boys improved to 10-2 overall and 9-1 in SCAC matches with a strong showing across the board. Sophomore Albin Eskew set the tone in first singles, delivering a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win. Alonso Mendoza-Rojas followed with a solid 6-4, 6-2 victory in second singles.

In doubles play, Wyatt Nelson and Quentin Christensen dominated first doubles with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Jackson Meloy and Kamren Meloy secured a 6-3, 6-1 victory in second doubles, while Lizandro Sanchez and Rafael Rojas rounded out the sweep with a 6-1, 6-4 win in third doubles.

On the girls side, Cashmere continued its unbeaten run, improving to 13-0 overall and 10-0 in SCAC play. Autumn Todd battled back after dropping the first set to claim a gritty 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 win in first singles. Kate Croci remained undefeated on the season in second singles, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

The Bulldogs doubles teams were equally dominant. Hazel Schade and Lucy Ray rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win in first doubles. Ellie Creiglow and Gloria Smith earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory in second doubles, and Ilsa Dronen and Olivia Ray completed the sweep with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 performance in third doubles.

Next Up: Cashmere will be back on the road Monday as they travel to Wapato for another SCAC matchup, looking to keep their momentum rolling.
