Cashmere High School will host the 2026 1A District 5 Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon, with competition beginning at 2:00 p.m. Athletes from all nine schools in the South Central Athletic Conference along with all three schools from the Caribou Trail League will compete for a chance to advance to the WIAA 1A State Track & Field Championships next week.
The district meet serves as the qualifying opportunity for athletes hoping to earn a trip to state, which will be held May 28-30 at Zaepfel Stadium in Yakima.
The top three finishers in each event on Friday will automatically qualify for the state meet. Athletes can also secure a state berth by reaching established state qualifying standards during district competition.
