Bulldogs Win 7th Straight, Defeat Naches Valley 3–1

The Cashmere Bulldogs boys soccer team kept their strong season rolling on Tuesday night, earning a 3–1 victory over the Naches Valley Rangers on the Cashmere Soccer Field. With the win, the Bulldogs extend their streak to seven straight matches and move to 7–1 in SCAC play and 9–1–1 overall. Cashmere also continues to climb the state rankings, currently sitting at No. 5 in the WIAA 1A RPI standings.

Coming off a 10-day break for spring break, Cashmere showed some early signs of rust as Naches Valley came out aggressively. The Rangers struck first in the 10th minute, capitalizing early to take a 1–0 lead and put the Bulldogs on their heels.

Cashmere responded in the 25th minute when sophomore Tommy Batanoiu delivered a moment of quality, striking a 20-yard shot into the bottom corner to level the match at 1–1.

Momentum fully shifted late in the first half. With just four minutes remaining before halftime, sophomore Edgar Reyna unleashed a 35-yard strike that beat the goalkeeper and gave the Bulldogs a 2–1 lead heading into the break.

In the second half, Cashmere settled into their rhythm and controlled more of the play. Just five minutes after the restart, senior Ivan Gonzalez-Hurtado connected with fellow senior Alejandro Serna Rojas, who finished the chance to extend the lead to 3–1.

From there, the Bulldogs managed the match well, creating several additional scoring opportunities while limiting Naches Valley’s chances down the stretch. Although Cashmere was unable to add to the scoring, a strong second-half performance sealed their seventh consecutive victory.

Next Up: The Bulldogs travel to Manson on Saturday for a non-league matchup against the Trojans. Varsity is scheduled to kick off at 11:00 a.m., followed by the JV match.
