Bulldogs Stay Hot, Win Sixth Straight with 3-1 Victory Over Brewster

The Cashmere Bulldogs boys soccer team continued their strong run of form on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Brewster Bears 3-1 at Cashmere Soccer Field. With the win, the Bulldogs extend their winning streak to six matches and improve to 8-1-1 on the season, while Brewster falls to 5-3 overall.

It was a competitive matchup between two quality teams, especially in the opening half. Brewster came out aggressive and created several early scoring opportunities, but Cashmere senior goalkeeper Ranique Allen rose to the challenge with a series of impressive saves to keep the match scoreless. The Bulldogs also generated chances of their own but were unable to break through before halftime.

Cashmere found its breakthrough shortly after the second half began. In the 44th minute, Tommy Batanoiu opened the scoring off an assist from senior JJ Herrera to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Just four minutes later, Batanoiu struck again, converting a penalty kick to double the advantage.

Brewster responded quickly, earning and converting a penalty kick of their own just three minutes later to cut the deficit to 2-1. However, the Bulldogs answered back in the 56th minute when senior Ethan Theiss found the back of the net off an assist from Batanoiu, restoring a two-goal cushion and sealing the 3-1 victory.

Allen anchored the defense with a standout performance in goal, coming up with key saves throughout the match. Batanoiu led the offensive charge with two goals and an assist, while the midfield unit once again played a dominant role on both ends of the field. Yelko Diaz, Claudio Parra, Hudson Blackburn, Edgar Reyna, Emanuel Urrutia, JJ Herrera, and Ethan Theiss all contributed to the Bulldogs’ strong possession and balanced attack.
