Bulldogs Blank 4A Eastmont, Win Sixth Straight

The Cashmere Bulldogs put together a dominant all-around performance on Friday night, defeating the Eastmont Wildcats 6-0 in a non-league matchup at Paul Thomas Sr. Field on the campus of Wenatchee Valley College. With the victory, Cashmere improves to 12-1 on the season, extending their winning streak to six games while recording their sixth shutout of the year.

Cashmere’s pitching staff set the tone early and never let up. Senior left-hander Tom McDevitt delivered a strong outing on the mound, earning the win after tossing five shutout innings. McDevitt allowed just three hits while striking out eight and walking three. He kept the Wildcats off balance throughout his outing and worked out of any trouble that came his way.

Sophomore Ethan Bessonette was lights out in relief, closing the game with two perfect innings. He faced the minimum six batters and struck out four of them in an efficient and overpowering performance.

Offensively, the Bulldogs made the most of their opportunities, out-hitting Eastmont 6-3. Cashmere broke the game open in the second inning, plating four runs to take control. They added single runs in both the third and fourth innings to round out the scoring.

Senior Jake Peterson led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Bessonette contributed with a 1-for-2 performance and an RBI, while McDevitt helped his own cause by going 1-for-3 with an RBI and scoring twice. Jacoby Tait and Jacoby Yousey each added a base hit and crossed the plate once.
