Saturday, Nov. 29 | Wenatchee Apple Bowl | 3:00 PM Kickoff
The Cashmere Bulldogs return to the field this Saturday with a trip to Husky Stadium on the line. At 10–1 and holding the No. 2 seed in the 1A State Football Playoffs, Cashmere enters the semifinal round aiming for its first championship-game appearance since 2008.
Their opponent, the No. 3–seeded Mount Baker Mountaineers, arrive in Wenatchee riding the momentum of a strong quarterfinal performance. Mount Baker defeated No. 11 Omak, 32–22, pulling away with 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Cashmere, meanwhile, delivered the most explosive offensive performance of the quarterfinal round, storming past No. 10 Life Christian in a 59–16 rout at the Apple Bowl.
A Loaded Final Four
This year’s bracket has followed the seeding with remarkable precision: the top four teams all advanced to the semifinals, each earning double-digit wins last weekend.
-
No. 1 Royal continued its dominant run with a 48–10 win over No. 8 Seton Catholic, a rematch of last year’s state title game.
-
No. 2 Cashmere posted the highest point total of the quarterfinals with its 59–16 victory.
-
No. 3 Mount Baker surged late to top No. 11 Omak, 32–22.
-
No. 4 Lynden Christian advanced after outpacing No. 5 Montesano, 56–35.
Royal and Cashmere return to the semifinals for the second straight year. For Royal, this marks an incredible 10th consecutive final-four appearance; the Knights have captured eight of the last nine 1A state championships. Cashmere enters back-to-back semifinals on the opposite side of the bracket from its SCAC rival—Royal ended the Bulldogs’ season at this stage a year ago.
Mount Baker is back in the semifinals for the first time since 2022, when the Mountaineers finished as state runner-up to Royal. Lynden Christian returns to the final four for the first time since 2021. The semifinal field includes two teams from the 1A SCAC (Cashmere and Royal) and two from the 1A NWC (Mount Baker and Lynden Christian).
The winners of Saturday’s semifinals will advance to the 1A State Championship Game at Husky Stadium in Seattle on Friday, December 5 at 3:00 PM.
