Cashmere High School senior Isaac Zavala has been named the WIAA Athlete of the Week, earning statewide recognition after a history-making performance on the football field.

Zavala electrified fans once again when he returned a 40-yard punt for a touchdown in the Bulldogs playoff victory over Kalama on November 8th, marking his fourth punt return TD of the season and the 11th of his high school career—a feat that set a new all-time Washington state record. His breakout play added yet another highlight to an already exceptional season.

A true all-around threat, Zavala was voted First Team All-League (Utility) for his ability to impact the game in multiple ways. This season alone, he has scored 15 total touchdowns, showcasing rare versatility:

• 3 rushing touchdowns

• 6 receiving touchdowns

• 4 punt return touchdowns

• 2 kickoff return touchdowns

Whether on offense or special teams, Zavala has consistently proven himself to be one of the most dynamic high school athletes in the state. His record-setting achievement and multi-phase dominance make him more than deserving of this week’s statewide honor.
