Hatmaker and Mazur Named CHS Athletes of the Week

Rylan Hatmaker (Senior, Football)

Senior quarterback Rylan Hatmaker delivered a standout performance in the Bulldogs’ 21–20 state championship heartbreaker against Royal on Friday night.
Hatmaker finished the game completing 24 of 32 passes for 237 yards, throwing one touchdown and two interceptions, while also rushing 14 times for 76 yards and a score. His 313 total yards of offense played a major role in keeping the Bulldogs in the state title battle from start to finish.

Hatmaker’s performance capped off a remarkable senior campaign. He completed 180 of 247 passes (72%) for 2,534 yards and 38 touchdowns, while adding 283 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground. His career concludes with a 32–5 record as a starter, solidifying his place among the most successful quarterbacks in program history.

Coach Bryan Bremer praised Hatmaker’s leadership and poise under pressure:
“Rylan’s 313 total yard offensive performance on Friday was one of his best outings in a Bulldog uniform. Rylan consistently made good decisions with the football and put our football team in successful situations. I am so proud of Rylan and how he played on Friday on the biggest stage. Rylan’s legacy as a Bulldog goes far beyond the scoreboard, but his 32-5 record as a starter certainly puts him in the conversation as one of the best in program history. Rylan constantly took time to mentor younger players both on and off the field. I am incredibly grateful for Rylan’s commitment to this program for the last four years. He truly left the program better than he found it.”

Sydney Mazur (Junior, Girls Wrestling)

Junior wrestler Sydney Mazur turned in a strong performance at the Lady Cat Classic at Eastmont High School on Saturday, finishing the day with a 4–1 record in the 170-pound bracket.
After dropping her opening match to the eventual tournament champion, Mazur responded with resilience—rattling off four straight victories to close out the day. Her first three wins all came by first-round pin, and she capped her impressive run with a second-round pin in her final match.

Mazur, a returning state qualifier who competed at Mat Classic last season, is poised to lead a young CHS girls wrestling squad with her experience, toughness, and technique.

Head Coach Beau Van Winkle praised Mazur’s grit and execution:
“After a hard-fought loss in her first match of the day, she finished the day winning four in a row with an impressive performance in her consolation finals match against a tough Tonasket opponent. Her ability shined all tournament long.”
