Athlete of the Week: Mac Carlson (Soph.) – Boys Basketball
Mac Carlson has gotten off to an impressive start to his sophomore season for the CHS boys basketball team, showcasing growth and versatility as a key contributor for the Bulldogs.
Carlson put together a strong week against tough competition. In a road loss to #5-ranked Chelan, he finished with 14 points, a team-high eight rebounds, and three steals. He followed that effort with another 14-point performance in Friday’s win over Cascade, adding five rebounds and a team-high six steals. Carlson capped off the week in Saturday’s SCAC home win over Wahluke by leading all scorers with 23 points, while also pulling down a game-high nine rebounds and dishing out a team-high five assists.
On the season, Carlson leads the Bulldogs in scoring at 14.7 points per game, three-pointers made with 17, and steals with 23, while also averaging 6.7 rebounds per contest.
Head coach Levi Heyen has been impressed with Carlson’s development:
“Mac built a reputation last year as a freshman for being a knock-down shooter from the outside. This year he has really expanded his game and found more ways to help our team. He is very crafty when he gets inside the key and is scoring more around the basket. He is regularly one of our top rebounders each night and leads our team in steals. He has a strong drive to improve his game and is really focused on finding ways to help our team win games.”
Athlete of the Week: Addie Talley (Jr.) – Girls Basketball
Addie Talley continues to deliver standout performances for the CHS girls basketball team, helping lead the Bulldogs to a 7–2 start to the 2025–26 season.
Talley played a pivotal role in three Bulldog victories this past week. In Tuesday’s road win at Chelan, she led the team with an outstanding all-around effort, finishing with 25 points, seven rebounds, and five steals. She followed that performance with a dominant showing in Friday’s win at Cascade, recording 15 points, 16 rebounds, and three steals. Talley capped off the week with another double-double in Saturday’s home win over Wahluke, tallying 18 points, 15 rebounds, and five steals.
For the season, Talley leads the Bulldogs in scoring (12.7 points per game), rebounding (13.6 rebounds per game), and steals (28), consistently impacting games on both ends of the floor.
Head coach Brandon Eygabroad praised her influence:
“Addie Talley makes her presence known every time she steps on the floor. She sets the tone with her toughness and physical play, often leading our team in both rebounding and scoring. Addie’s relentless effort creates deflections, steals, and control of the boards that disrupt opponents and fuel our team.”
