ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: LOGAN SPIES (Sr., WR/DB)

Cashmere senior Logan Spies delivered another standout performance on the biggest stage of the season, helping power the Bulldogs to a 41–14 state semifinal victory over Mount Baker on Saturday. The veteran wide receiver and defensive back was everywhere, impacting the game in multiple ways and setting the tone for a dominant team win.

Spies turned in one of the most complete outings of his career, finishing with 7 receptions for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns, along with 2 tackles and 3 game-changing pass break-ups on defense. Whether stretching the field, making plays in space, or locking down receivers, Spies’ versatility was on full display as Cashmere punched its ticket to the 1A state championship game.

His big performance continued what has been an exceptional senior campaign. Spies has now totaled 53 receptions, 868 yards, and 15 touchdowns this season. Across his remarkable Bulldog career, he has amassed 177 receptions, 2,510 yards, and 44 touchdowns, solidifying himself as one of the most productive and reliable players in program history.

Head coach Bryan Bremer says Spies’ value extends far beyond the stat sheet:

“You never run out of good things to say about Logan Spies. Obviously, his all-around performance on Saturday versus Mount Baker was phenomenal, but Logan means so much more to our program than what he can do on the field. Logan’s attention to detail and work ethic bring out the best in his teammates. His consistent servant leadership throughout the last four years is the testament to how much he cares about the Cashmere Football Family. Logan is the rock of this program. His attitude, demeanor, heart, relationship with teammates, and love for the community is second to none. I am forever grateful for Logan’s commitment to this program.”

With the state championship game up next, the Bulldogs will once again look to their senior leader—on and off the field—to guide the way.
